The United States of America have brought back the food pyramid with a focus on protein and dairy, but it’s drawn some criticism from dieticians and experts.

Chief Health Officer at Healthy Living Simone Austin says suggestions by Robert F Kennedy, the Secretary of the United States Department of Health and Human Services, that Americans may have been lied to previously aren’t right.

“If we look at … our eating healthy plate … people say ‘Oh, it’s telling you, you eat too many carbs’, if you look at ours, it actually only encourages you to eat a fistful of carbohydrates,” she told Millsy and Karl.

She says there’s research to show that saturated fats in whole foods won’t impact cholesterol levels, but to limit the amount of fats like butter.

“I won’t agree with the parts that he’s talking about, and even the American Heart Association don’t,” she said.
