Perth raised fighter Soa "The Hulk" Palelei hopes the WA ban on the cage used in MMA bouts will be overturned so he can bring a major fight to his Perth fans. Soa Palelei who is the only fighter from Perth in the UFC spoke to Peter Vlahos and Adam Papalia on 6PR Sports Today.

Soa "The Hulk" Palelei is in Sydney ready for his next UFC fight which will be on Saturday against Walt Harris from the USA.

Soa Palelei who is the only fighter from Perth in the UFC spoke to Peter Vlahos and Adam Papalia on 6PR Sports Today.

Palelei vs Harris is the first fight on the UFC Fight Night Sydney Main Card.

Palelei talks about his opponent, his preparation for this fight after his original opponent pulled out injured, and how much of an advantage it is to fight in front of his home fans.

But Palelei still dreams to fight for the UFC at the Perth Arena in front of his home crowd.

Palelei says Brisbane made 14 million dollars from the UFC Fight Fight card last December, an event that was originally slated for Perth Arena.

If Labor win this months state election in Victoria, they will overturn the MMA Cage ban in the state of Victoria. Soa believes that will put pressure on WA to follow suit and overturn the cage ban in WA.

Perth UFC fans can see UFC Fight Night Sydney on Foxtel’s Fox Sports 3 on Saturday.
