Honoured on Australia Day

More than 800 Australians have been bestowed with Australia Day honours, including West Australians Norman Moore and Andrew Vlahov, and national household names Shane Howard and Patsy Biscoe.

Gary Adshead spoke to the recipients on the 6PR Morning Program on Australia Day.

Australian singer-songwriter Shane Howard has been appointed a Member of the Order of Australia.

The Goanna frontman receiving the honour for significant service to the performing arts as a singer, songwriter and guitarist.

 
Former Perth Wildcats owner and champion Andrew Vlahov was honoured with the Order of Australia Medal for his service to basketball as an athlete and administrator.
 
The Honourable Norman Moore served as a Liberal politician for more than 35 years, including stints as the WA Minister for Justice, Sport and Recreation and Education.
 
He has been appointed a Member of the Order of Australia for significant service to the Parliament of WA through a range of portfolio responsibilities, to education, and to the economy.
