UPDATE: Mellen Events has apologised for what some Robbie Williams fans have branded a ‘disaster’ after they spent hours trying to get in and out of the global superstar’s show in the Swan Valley last night.

Ticket holders battled through severe traffic congestion around concert venue Nikola Estate, with some reportedly missing the start of the show.

Promoter Brad Mellen told Gary Adshead significant planning went into traffic management.

“However the plans that were put in place didn’t meet the expectations; there were a host of issues that certainly didn’t help,” Mr Mellen said.

Reports from Robbie William’s concert at Nikola Estate in the Swan Valley are pretty unanimous: the show was great, but the drive home was a nightmare.

Many 6PR listeners have called in to detail how it took them hours to slog through the Valley and highway traffic, with some not making it home until after 3 o’clock in the morning.

Main Roads WA’s Event Manager Mike Priest they’ve been in close contact with the venue and organisers while trying to figure out just how things got so chaotic.

“They’re looking at some other options for access to get people in and out in the future,”  Mr Priest said.
