Hird has to go: Hardie

Article image for Hird has to go: Hardie

The future of suspended Essendon coach James Hird is under a new cloud, following explosive allegations by his wife over how the AFL handled the supplements scandal.

Chairman Paul Little says the Bombers board will meet to discuss its next move regarding Hird, who’s serving a 12-month suspension which runs until late August.

Little says that until Tania Hird made her new allegations in a TV interview broadcast last night, he believed James Hird had been responding to the club’s requests in a positive way.

The Bombers play north Melbourne in a round-one clash at Etihad Stadium tonight.
