Fundraising initiative Climate 200 is targeting 20 seats at the next federal election, with Peter Dutton’s seat of Dickson on the radar.

For receiving the funding, recipients must agree with the movement’s objectives centering around climate change and advancing gender equality.

Political Editor at the Australian Financial Review Phillip Coorey told Oliver Peterson on Perth LiveĀ it’s no surprise they are returning, jagging six seats in the previous election and that it seems as though liberal seats are under the microscope.

“They claim they don’t target specific seats, but they are prepared to fund candidates who organise themselves, who have a fair dinkum chance of running…then you can come to Climate 200 and ask for money,” Coorey said.
