Speaking with 6PR Weekends host Russell Collett, Cullen detailed how he and fellow veterans laid down their medals in protest.
“It was an unfortunate incident, but effectively we’ve been pressuring the government just to be heard. We actually laid down our medals in a bit of a symbolic gesture to really get the attention of the government. We did that out the front of Parliament House. It was a very emotional thing to do and not something we did lightly,” he said.
