Geelong Stun Brisbane… In Sydney.

AFL

Geelong has come from 22 points behind at one stage to defeat the Lions at the SCG.

Despite losing Quinton Narkle to a hamstring injury and Mitch Duncan to similar issue early on in the match, the Cats piled on 9 unanswered goals to win 11.7.73 to 6.10.46.

Gary Rohan is on report for a charge on young Lion Brandon Starcevich and is also set to face further scrutiny for running past the ball and laying a strong bump.

Mitch Robinson’s night finished early with a quad issue, while young Lion Hugh McCluggage appeared to suffer a shoulder injury, but toughed it out to finish the match with a brilliant goal late.

Young Cat Sam Simpson was excellent for the Cats, collecting 27 disposals. Lachie Neale did his best for the losing side gathering 26 disposals. Ultimately, it was the Cats seven unanswered goals in the third term which saw them take home the 4 points.

Shane McInnes, Brad Hardie, Matt Granland and David Schwarz called all the action for 6PR Football.
