Freo record big score to start the season

Fremantle has recorded their highest score at Optus Stadium and claimed a 82 point win over North Melbourne in the opening round of the 2019 AFL season.

Cam McCarthy was on fire for Fremantle kicking five goals for the home side, with new-comer Rory Lobb and debutant Lachie Shultz kicking a couple each to add to Fremantle’s 21.15 (141) to 9.5 (59) scoreline.

North Melbourne’s Ben Brown was kept to only two goals, and didn’t take a mark, with Dockers’ defender Alex Pearce working hard to shut him down.

Nat Fyfe fought on for 32 disposals, despite a knock to his injured right elbow that required surgery only weeks ago.
