GAME DAY: Eagles demolish Saints

Article image for GAME DAY: Eagles demolish Saints

The West Coast Eagles have recorded a massive 103-point win over St Kilda at Domain Stadium on Sunday with the Eagles forward line controlling the game.

Mark LeCras kicked six goals and Josh Kennedy started with five and the ball moved well through the middle for the Eagles while the Saints struggled to make a mark on the scoreboard finishing the game 20.12 (132) to 3.11 (29).

West Coast came out firing, especially off the boots of Kennedy who kicked five goals in the first quarter. The Eagles recorded their highest first quarter score of the season with nine goals to the Saints one.

The Saints stepped up their defensive game in the second quarter and kept the Eagles to three goals in the term, but they failed to add a goal to their own with Jack Billings and Jack Lonie missing the mark and rushed behinds destroying their chances at goal.

Both teams ran through the motions in the third quarter, but Mark LeCras stood out kicking a couple of majors and increasing his tally to five, while Nick Riewoldt worked hard for his Saints.

The fourth saw more of the same with Jeremy McGovern adding to the Eagles goal kickers list and the Saints only briefly saw the ball to kick their third.

Nic Naitanui and Luke Shuey (31 disposals) worked well together and Matt Priddis clocked up 28 disposals.
