Experts demand answers from police over tasering of 95-year-old

Disability Advocates are pressuring NSW Police to provide a detailed accounts that lead to a 95-year-old sufferer of dementia suffering head injuries after being tasered by officers.
NSW Police Assistant Commissioner Peter Cotter said “it was fair to say” the nursing home patient was “armed” when police approached her.
People with Disability Australia President Nicole Lee told Gary Adshead onĀ 6PR Mornings she didn’t believe tasers were warranted, despite the description of the incident.
“At 95 years old people aren’t very agile; there has to be a better way to handle things and an understanding by police that the use of tasers don’t come without serious consequences,” Ms Lee said.
