Article image for Eldridge ‘regrets’ controversial tweets

After accusing the media of ‘fake news’ Richard Eldridge has said he regrets questionable tweets he published.

The One Nation candidate for the South Metropolitan region hit the headlines this week after tweets he wrote surfaced in which he called Muslims ‘little sheet heads’, attacked ‘poofters’ and advocated killing Indonesia journalists.

Speaking exclusively with 6PR’s Oliver Peterson Mr Eldridge said he apologises for the tweets and that they were from a ‘satirical’ account.

He also said the preferences deal with the Liberals ‘doesn’t concern’ him.
