Eagles star Josh Kennedy says Freo ‘outworked us’ in Western Derby

Eagles forward Josh Kennedy refuses to write off the season despite the club starting the season with three defeats.

Kennedy told Mark Gibson on 6PR Breakfast that the COVID crisis at the club has had a varying effect on players.

“Some guys get rocked pretty hard. Some guys just have a runny nose, and that’s it. A few of us got out early in the week, and we were able to get a couple of sessions in,” the footballer said during his regular segment on 6PR Breakfast on Tuesday.

“For most of those boys, they came in on the Friday, had one session and played, but everyone’s different. It depends on who it is.”

The forward player said that the team was disappointed following their loss to the Dockers in the Western Derby.

“Freo seemed to outwork us a fair bit, they beat us up around the footy, and they were able to kick that better score,” he said.

“It’s very disappointing. We can keep moving on and keep learning.”

This week, the Eagles are set to recover several players, including Luke Shuey, Willie Rioli, Tom Barrass and Liam Duggan, to face Collingwood.
