Eagles Fly Into Finals

The West Coast Eagles have burst into the finals with a convincing 32-point win over the reigning premiers at Domain Stadium on Friday night.
A Priddis-less Eagles dominated for most of the Qualifying Final leaving the Hawthorn Hawks playing catch up but they never could find momentum at the Eagles Nest for the 14.12(96) to 9.10(64) scoreline.
The Eagles were without their reliable midfielder and last year’s Brownlow medal winner, Matt Priddis, who was a late withdrawal with a tight thigh, but his teammates still made the numbers as Shannon Hurn and Matt Rosa managing 26 disposals apiece. Josh Kennedy and Josh Hill were the go-to goal kickers with three goals each while Jack Darling was kept quiet.
Hawthorn’s mistakes hurt their scoreline as they turned the ball over and struggled to kick a goal, but Sam Mitchell still clocked up 35 disposals and Luke Hodge returned to the game with 19 disposals.
