WA Police have cracked down on Perth tow truck drivers with multiple arrests of drug use and concerns for public safety.

Police Commissioner Col Blanch says WA Police, the Department of Transport and Main Roads have set up ‘Operation City’; a tow truck, industry, compliance and enforcement action.

“I think when it permeates through management and it’s their regular behaviour, they’ve got no place on our roads,” Commissioner Blanch told Mornings 6pr with Gary Adshead in response to taking down rouge tow companies.

Commissioner Blanch went on to comment how good tow truck operators have an obligation to help to “get rid of shonky operators”.
