The wait is over with the AFL finals series officially launching today, before the Pies and Dees play the first final on Thursday night.

But David Mundy spoke on Wide World of Sports during Monday night’s show of his frustration at the pre-finals bye.

“I think it just kills the momentum.”

“It was brought in on the back of Fremantle resting a whole heap of players when we had our position locked in, which we were within our rights to do, we’d earned that.”

Mundy and host Adam Papalia discussed the concept of a finals bye and explored the possibility of moving it, or scrapping it altogether.
