Australia’s first heavyweight world champion Lucas Browne has revealed his eagerness to bring a world title fight to Perth.

Browne defeated Ruslan Chagaev by knock out to take the WBA heavyweight title.

Speaking on 882 6PR in his first interview since returning home having claimed the title, ‘Big Daddy’ as is his moniker, said he would love to fight at Perth Arena.

‘I heard that. I was very interested with that’ he said, in response to Adam Papalia saying the 14-thousand stadium was yet to host a boxing bout.

‘I would love to have it there.

‘I reckon we could pack that out.’
