It has been revealed that, last financial year, the Cottesloe Rangers fined drivers $1.44 million.

The Mayor of Cottesloe, Lorraine Young, explained to Perth Today’s Simon Beaumont how Cottesloe, by law, can’t charge for parking along the beachfront, so the time limits are important to prevent people monopolising the bays.

“The timed parking ensures that there is the right turnover of parking spaces so that more people can come down and enjoy what we offer here,” she said.
