Cordingleys Surf City v City of Stirling over Handrail

The City of Stirling is under fire for blocking access to a Scarborough surf shop for almost a year.

Wayne Bowen says a chain was put across a set of steps leading up to his store 11 months ago because the hand-rails didn’t comply with building codes.

But the hand rails originally had to be changed because they spilled onto Council land.

Gary Adshead spoke with Mr Bowen and the City of Stirling’s Planning and Development Director Ross Povey.
