Minister for Local Government Hannah Beazley has issued a firm warning: “poor behaviour” by councils is no longer tolerated.

Beazley told 6PR Mornings host Simon Beaumont that greater scrutiny and stronger new powers have led to increased transparency and accountability in the sector.
She emphasised the benefits of this cleanup.
“It is for the benefit of those well-functioning local governments that we clean up the ones that aren’t in order to lift the reputation of the sector as a whole,” she said.
