MACQUARIE’S SUMMER OF CRICKET LINE-UP: Darren Berry, Tony Leonard, and Jordan Tunbridge.

STARS WIN

The Stars have dented Hobart’s finals hopes, winning by three wickets.

The Hurricanes shot themselves in the foot in the 18th over, conceding a no-ball for having too many fielders outside the circle.

It was a winning send off for Stars’ fan favourites Kevin Pietersen and Bobby Quiney.

KP told Macquarie Cricket he’s loved his time in the Big Bash.

“I’m a little bit worried about expansion, but the product in amazing,” he said.

HURRICANES HIT HARD

Hobart has posted a healthy total from its 20 overs.

Despite losing danger man D’Arcy Short for a golden duck in the first over, the Hurricanes managed to amass 7-185.

Dan Christian (56 off 37) survived a simple catching chance to lead the way, while George Bailey and Nathan Reardon both chipped in with 32.

It comes down to this for the Hurricanes: win, and they’re in.

But the Stars have been woeful this summer, and will be burning to find something to smile about in the final match.

If they can knock Hobart off, the Hurricanes will be left with a nervy wait to see if they still make the finals.
