Opposition Leader Basil Zempilas came out swinging when he joined Perth Today host Simon Beaumont to discuss a range of current affairs, including prison overcrowding, ferry terminals, and the racetrack.

However, his strongest criticism was reserved for the State Government’s transparency, after he revealed that next year will feature the lowest number of parliament sitting weeks this century.

“This government do not like scrutiny, they do not like being asked questions and they don’t like being forced to answer questions, but it is a very important part of the democracy that we are in here in Western Australia,” he said.
