It’s hoped more than 3000 construction jobs will be generated with the State Government committing to an agreement for the development of a new iron ore mine in the Pilbara.

The $5.6 billion Balla Balla project near Whim Creek will include the development of a 162 kilometre railway and export facility.

Premier Colin Barnett says the agreement has a requirement for local jobs however there are still several finer details to be worked out before work can commence.

He spoke with Oliver Peterson.
