‘Australia’s biggest sporting event’: Premier

The Premier has declared ‘Australia’s biggest sporting event’ will come to Perth in 2019.

Colin Barnett officially announced the new Perth stadium will host Game 2 of the NRL State of Origin series in 2019.

Some have questioned the timing of the announcement, with the discovery of asbestos in roof panels imported from China and used on the new Perth Children’s Hospital build.

Morning Show reporter Lisa Barnes attended the Premier’s press conference this morning, where Mr Barnett touched on both issues.
