Article image for Artwork wins the replacement vote

The Cockburn Faces that overlooked the Kwinana Freeway for years will finally be replaced.

A vote went out to the community asking what would be the preferred replacement for the aging and decaying faces and today Transport Minister Rita Saffioti told 6PR Breakfast, the votes are in.

“A new piece of artwork has been the nominated as the most preferred option,” Minister Saffioti told Steve and Baz.
“43 per cent nominated they wanted to see the faces replace the artwork and an analogue clock… came up at 37 per cent.”

Local artists will be called upon to submit their artworks before a vote is again taken to the people to choose a design.
