Aftershocks to continue in WA

Earthquake

A magnitude 6.6 earthquake in the Indian Ocean in WA’s North was felt between Broome and Perth on Sunday afternoon, but we’re being told aftershocks have already struck and there’s more to come.

“There has actually been several [aftershocks] overnight, so we can expect those continue,” Professor Chris Elders from Curtin University told 6PR Breakfast.

“Whether or not it’s a precursor for a larger earthquake is very difficult to tell but the aftershocks will be the most likely thing that we will experience.”
