The AFL has announced a key change to the retirement benefit fund.

6PR Breakfast host and former AFL player Karl Langdon has explained that the fund will now include a severe injury benefit, providing financial support to former players who demonstrate a loss of earning capacity.

It’s changed from when I played. you get smacked in the head, you’d get up, and you’d sort of see the stars fly, and you’d just keep playing,” Karl said.
