It’s been a long week for the West Coast Eagles but coach Adam Simpson is confident of a response to last week’s horror defeat to Sydney.

The Eagles take on the Saints on Sunday at Optus Stadium and the senior coach told Adam Papalia on Thursday’s Wide World of Sports he has confidence in his group to produce a performance they can be proud of.

“The response is really needed… and I fully expect them to stand up and do that.”

The Eagles regain senior players Shannon Hurn and Jamie Cripps, who will play his first game since breaking his ankle in round three.

Simpson spoke of the balance between reflection whilst not dwelling on the result.

“Making sure others are reflective that what happened last week wasn’t good enough, but also not to the point where we can’t respond.”
