The McGowan Government has released the finalised strategy to reconnect the Great Northern Highway through to Fitzroy Crossing.

A higher and longer structure will replace the Fitzroy Crossing Bridge that was badly damaged by raging floodwaters in the Kimberley earlier in January.

In the meantime, barges and a low-level floodway crossing will be installed.

“They’re talking about barging vehicles across, so I am assuming that the other parts of the roads past Fitzroy Crossing are okay,” Millsy said on 6PR Breakfast.
