Perth foster parent “Sara” took the Department of Communities to court seeking a guardianship order of her foster child “James”.

Sara was denied access to specialist appointments for James by the responsible government departments which delayed his diagnosis and treatment.

Sara won her case and spoke to Gareth Parker to highlight the faults in a system that is designed to help and protect vulnerable children.
