Fremantle has suffered their biggest loss in their history and equaled their second lowest score ever after a 133-point trashing by Geelong at GMHBA on Saturday afternoon.

Fremantle got off to a flyer with David Mundy kicking the first goal of the game followed by goals to Bradley Hill and Tommy Sheridan but that’s where it stopped for the visitors; Geelong kicked the next 23 goals for their 24.14 (158) to 3.7 (25).

Tom Hawkins helped his push for the Coleman Medal with six goals to his name and former Docker turned Cat, Sam Menegola dominated with 27 disposals.

“We got beaten, beaten to the ball, outnumbered at every contest, they worked harder than us… it’s one of those really disappointing games, but let’s just hope we can take some lessons from it,” Michael Walters told us after their record loss.

“That was really disappointing, no doubt. After a positive first quarter, certainly didn’t see that coming,” Ross Lyon said after the game.

Player contract talks are at the forefront as Fremantle start to say goodbye to season 2018. Fremantle’s Operations Manager, Chris Bond, told 6PR they want to lock in Adam Cerra for a few more years.

“He’s obviously one of our younger brigades they we need to be here for a long period of time, in speaking to his mum and dad and his management and also Adam himself. It’s been a fantastic year for him, he’s really settled in Perth and we’ll work through that.”
