Australia’s National Film and Sound Archive has curated a list of tracks that defined our nation’s identity, ranging from Beds Are Burning to Helen Reddy’s I Am Woman.

Speaking to 6PR Breakfast hosts Millsy and Karl, Meagan Loader, chief curator at the National Film and Sound Archive, explained that songs must be over 10 years old to qualify, establishing a clear sense of their impact and legacy.

“I think that there’s such diversity in these songs, it’d be very hard not to find at least one song that resonates with everyone. But 10 songs could never possibly sum up Australia”, Loader said.
