Music legend and philanthropist Dolly Parton, 80, has died peacefully in Nashville, Tennessee.

Journalist Kyle Grainger, who had the opportunity to get to know the icon, told 6PR Breakfast hosts Millsy and Karl how down-to-earth and warm she was.

“I went downtown where they erected a statue of her about 30 years ago, and people were already lining the streets, crying, laying flowers, bringing wreaths and pictures and blankets of butterflies and all kinds of things”, Grainger said.
