Marking 60 years since the Battle of Long Tan, where 108 Australians faced over 1,000 enemy soldiers in chaotic conditions. Vietnam veteran and Wheelchairs for Kids patron Graham Edwards, who lost his legs to a landmine in 1970, shares his story of service and resilience.

He lost both of his legs, but if you think that is where Edwards’ story becomes a story about what was taken from him, you would be very, very wrong. Edwards told 6PR Mornings host Chrissy Morrissy about his experience in Vietnam and the amazing work he has done since his return.
“All of a sudden, the pain hit and I hit the earth with a big thud, and I looked down and I saw that my legs were gone. I just felt a determination, and I said, ‘I’m not going to die’ ”, he said.
