Bob Montgomery and his grandson took on the inspiring challenge of riding over 5000 kilometres across Australia to raise money for MND.

Sadly, hours after completing the ride, the 82-year-old suffered a medical episode and died.

2GB Mornings host Mark Levy had been following the pair’s MND bike ride and attended the ‘One Last Ride’ celebratory function. He told 6PR Mornings host Simon Beaumont how delighted Montgomery was, noting how overwhelmed he felt by the turnout.

“I just remember turning around, and I just saw him smiling, and he gave me a big wave as I walked out the door, and then to learn only a matter of hours later that he suffered a medical episode”, he said.
