This 19.75 per cent increase brings their total pay rise to more than 28 per cent since 2024.
Western Australian Police Union president Simone Taplin told 6PR Mornings host Simon Beaumont that the justification provided for the pay rise was that the role had changed significantly.
“I would argue that if their job has changed significantly, then so has every police officer, and I don’t see each police officer getting over a 20 per cent pay rise from the government for the work they’re doing”, she said.
