Freshwater anglers face a ban across 17 lakes and wetlands in the City of Stirling, following a series of black swan deaths linked to local youths.

Recfishwest operations lead Matt Gillett told 6PR Drive host Jamie Burnett that the community – particularly children – should not be penalised for the actions of a small minority.

“What kind of world do we want? Do we want people and particularly kids to be able to go outside and enjoy themselves or do we want to live in a world where everything gets banned just because a few people can’t do the right thing?”, he said.
