Tank went missing in the outback after escaping his crate en route to foster care in Perth.

The courier company did not realise he was missing for three hours, but a truckie named Dean miraculously found him 50 kilometres south of Carnarvon after seeing a social media alert.

Oldies but Goodies Dog Rescue’s Natalie Plunkett told 6PR Breakfast hosts Millsy and Mick her reaction to discovering Tank had been found.

“I just couldn’t believe it, I just could not believe that he was found”, she said.

The hero truckie, Dean from Russells Transport, obviously bonded quickly with the clever pup, telling Plunkett he would be happy to take him.

“If it doesn’t work out at his forever home I’d like to put myself up for it”, he said.
