Leaked documents have exposed the scale of state government spending on sports and entertainment events.

Business News reporter Gary Adshead told 6PR Drive host Jamie Burnett that the top 10 events alone for the 2024–25 financial year total $33.4 million.

Adshead noted that in 2016, then-Opposition Leader Mark McGowan pledged transparency regarding Labor’s spending on such events.

“Labor have themselves to blame for the fact that they are now under criticism for not explaining to the public of Western Australia what sort of money is being spent”, he said.
