Following complaints regarding mould in select chocolate blocks, Darrell Lea launched a “thorough investigation” which found the issue to be “isolated”.

Dr Karl Kruszelnicki told Chrissy Morrissy on 6PR Weekends that while some mould is harmless, other types can be dangerous.

“If it’s a soft porous type substance, throw the whole thing away, if it’s cheese, fairly rigid… you can get away with chopping it off”.
