WALGA president denies dysfunction is to blame for 200 complaints
In his first 88 days as local government inspector, Tony Brown received 200 formal complaints spanning 48 different local government authorities.

WALGA president Mark Irwin told 6PR Mornings host Simon Beaumont the figures did not reflect a dysfunctional local government.
“I think most councils would suggest that transparency is a good thing and accountability is a good thing but the level of accountability is something that is not seen in any other facet of organisations or institutions so again it’s not surprising that we sometimes see things play out that you wouldn’t see in another organisation”, he said.
