Community wants results, not ‘shovel ceremonies’: Basil Zempilas on housing crisis
Western Australian Opposition Leader Basil Zempilas said any promises of record spending from the Cook government in the 2026-27 state budget are only because they have under-delivered in housing and health over the last 10 years.

Zempilas told 6PR Mornings host Simon Beaumont the community is sick of announcements; they want results.
“Although they’re spending a lot of money, they haven’t been doing it in the right way because we’re not getting the results,” he said.
The Labor government has an open invitation to respond to the opposition leader’s comments in the 6PR studios – an offer they have yet to accept.
