Rockingham’s red bin movement demands, and wins, council transparency reforms
The controversial red bin policy has escalated into a major issue for the City of Rockingham, drawing over 400 people to a special meeting where capacity limits forced many to be turned away.
Resident and petitioner Jarrad Krollig told 6PR Breakfast hosts Karl and Will the massive turnout was a reaction to the council’s failure to represent the community, saying that the five motions passed were designed to increase council transparency.
“Really sad that the local council couldn’t anticipate what exactly the residents of Rockingham really wanted,” he said.
