Housing shortages continue to drive WA prices, but who can afford the $1.18 million median?
Perth’s house prices, reaching a median of $1.18 million after a 5.7 per cent rise in the March quarter, are now experiencing the longest uninterrupted growth streak since 2000-07.

Momentum Wealth managing director Damian Collins told 6PR Mornings host Simon Beaumont that despite prices hitting the affordability barrier and current growth being unsustainable, Western Australia continues to face a chronic housing shortage.
“Barring a big economic downturn, unemployment rising significantly, they’re still likely to go up. There just not going to go up at the same rate because it’s just not feasible to do so,” he said.
