Due to high levels of PFAS contamination in the groundwater, residents of Clements Place, Jandakot, are having their drinking water trucked in every week by Jandakot Airport.

Cockburn East Ward Councillor Tarun Dewan explained to 6PR Mornings host Simon Beaumont that the residents need the planning minister to rezone their suburb from rural to residential to secure access to scheme water, but the financial cost of the project remains an issue.

To make the project economically feasible, Dewan proposed a solution.

“It’s my view the solution lies in the fact that the big blocks have to be converted into smaller blocks so that it becomes economically viable,” he said.
