Dodgy taxi and rideshare drivers are plaguing Perth roads, a police sting operation revealed.
The issues included one in five cars being unroadworthy, drivers refusing identification and customers being gouged with off-meter fares.

Taxi driver Jonathan Masih, told 6PR Breakfast hosts Millsy and Karl that the industry is in a bad state, noting that honest taxi drivers welcome the police intervention and want it to become more frequent. 
Stating that during the sting “50 to 60% of the taxis disappeared, they left, so that means we’ve got a lot of dodgy illegal drivers,” he said.
