Former Police Commissioner Karl O’Callaghan believes his successor’s appointment has been tainted by a perception of political interference, because the state government allowed itself to be lobbied over candidates.

Mr O’Callaghan has told Mornings with Gareth Parker, he knows Police Commissioner Chris Dawson is not a political appointee, but has to battle the perception that he is.
