David Handley AM established Sculpture by the Sea, Bondi over twenty-five years ago, with a mere 10-week timeframe and a marketing budget of $400, and the event has since become a raving success. 

Mr Handley joined Julie-anne Sprague on 6PR Afternoons to discuss the creation of Sculpture by the Sea.

“In short, I just wanted to make the world a slightly better place, within my limited means,” Mr Handley said.

“Major free to the public cultural events add to our sense of society, they make people feel better about themselves.”
