Alan Joyce dodges Senate inquiry as public anger escalates

Simon Beaumont

As the hammer officially falls on to embattled Qantas executives, the now-former CEO Alan Joyce is nowhere to be found.

As the Senate inquiry into Qatar and Qantas gets underway, shareholders have demanded chairman Richard Goyder’s resignation and have put the rest of the board on notice.

Press PLAY to hear more about the scrutiny facing Qantas

Head of Senate Inquiry into Australia’s Aviation Industry Bridget McKenzie told Gary Adshead on 6PR Mornings they had been in contact with Mr Joyce’s record to get him on record.

“We offered videoconferencing but he refused our kind invitation; we as a committee determined yesterday that, on his return, he will be summonsed,” Ms McKenzie said.
