French nun Sister Andre, the world’s oldest person, has passed away at the age of 118 in the southern French city of Toulon.

Lucile Randon, born 1904, who took the name of Sister Andre when she joined a Catholic charitable order in 1944, survived COVID-19 in 2021.

Dr John Tickell, International Expert on Longevity and Mental Fitness, shared the secret to a long life with Millsy and Karl on 6PR Breakfast.

“Have a purpose in life. When you get to 65 or 75 what are you going to do with your life? Are you going to give it back like Sister Andre and help people?” Dr Tickell said.
